Biography

Irving Marcus was born in Minneapolis in 1929.  He received a B.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1950 and an M.F.A. from the University of Iowa in 1952.  He has exhibited for more than forty years, at such world-renowned institutions as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MOMA in New York. His paintings are in the permanent collections of the De Young Museum, the Oakland Museum of California, the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, Yale University Art Gallery, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art.  Marcus is Professor Emeritus at California State University, in Sacramento.
